FREE PERFORMANCE: Chinese Martial Arts & Folk Music Performance Group

Asian Services in Action, Inc. (”ASIA”) is pleased to announce that The Confucius Institute at The University of Akron invites you to enjoy a FREE exciting musical and martial arts event at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.

Visiting martial arts and musical artists from Henan Province in The People’s Republic of China. This talented performance group was featured at the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and has performed on Chinese National TV- CCTV.

WHEN: Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 7:30 PM.

FREE EVENT: Tickets are FREE and can be obtained at the EJ Thomas Hall Ticket Office Monday thru Friday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM or on the evening of the performance.

Living Free Program

Asian Services In Action, Inc (”ASIA”) is pleased to announce that “Living Free” Program is available in our community every Sunday.

“Living Free” Program is designed to help people with addiction problems to learn to overcome the struggles they are facing while meeting other students enjoying freedom from their own addiction. This program provides a support group.

The details are as follows:

TIME: starts at 9:30am, on every Sunday. (<1 hour)

ASIA joins National API Week of Action (January 12-20)

The National Asian American Pacific Islander week of action from Jan. 12-20 is a collaborative effort among national, state and local Asian American and Pacific Islander organizations and allies to demonstrate the collective power and voice of AAPIs in the comprehensive immigration reform debate. Coordinated outreach and events across the nation will engage community members in the broader Reform Immigration FOR America campaign and show Congress that the AAPI community is serious about demanding reform this year.

During the week of action, show your support in the following ways:
1) Endorse the Campaign
2) Text ‘AAPI’ to 69866 to express your personal support for the Campaign
3) Write or call your Senator and Congressman during the Week of Action
4) Attend events during the Week of Action in your areas
5) Follow the daily blog on the Week of Action at the Asian Pacific Americans For Progress website
