Immigration and entrepreneurship, free lecture May 11

April 28th, 2011

Come to The Cleveland Museum of Art on Wednesday, May 11 to examine immigration and entrepreneurship in University Circle with nationally renowned immigration lawyer, Richard T. Herman, and commentator for the Plain Dealer on immigration, global diversity and global business development, Robert L. Smith, co-authors of “Immigration, Inc. Why Immigrant Entrepreneurs Are Driving the New Economy (and how they will save the American worker)”.  The book explains how immigrants have become America’s competitive advantage in a global economy, and warns of the perils of losing that advantage, especially as the nation seeks to pull out of a great recession.

Mr. Herman will present a talk entitled “Immigration and Why it Matters to University Circle”, followed by a question and answer session, during which he’ll be joined by Mr. Smith. Chris Ronayne, President, University Circle Inc. will introduce the gentlemen and make opening remarks. This free event, which will take place at the Cleveland Museum of Art, is open to the public, with coffee at 10 a.m. and the program from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the museum’s Recital Hall.  The program will be simulcast in CMA Lecture Hall to accommodate any overflow.
