Interpreting & Translation

The Interpreting & Translation program was born out of an increased demand from health providers, legal practitioners, and community members served by ASIA in Northeast Ohio. Our services include:

* Certified document translation
* Proofreading and editing
* Cross cultural training
* Community, legal, and medical interpretation services

Our translation and interpreting services are offered in the following languages: Arabic, Burmese, French, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, Fukian, and Fujian dialects), Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Karen, Korean, Lao, Mon, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Additional languages are available upon request.

The Program provides official translation services or legal, medical, business, scientific, and general documents. In addition to translation, we provide editing and proofreading services. We take pride in our ability to bridge the cultural and linguistic divide between the English Language Learner and service providers.

Our translators work exclusively in their native tongue and in their area of specialization to meet local and global needs. Rigorous standards of quality control are an essential part of the translation service process – all texts are proofed by a second native speaker, who ensures that the accuracy, fluency, and style of the translation is in line with clients’ specifications.

To find out about our rates and deadlines for translation submissions, please contact us for a free rate quote.

On-site Interpretation – We understand that the needs of each individual client are unique, and are happy to discuss your specific requirements and select an individual or team with the ideal combination of skills and experience. We understand that the role of an interpreter is extremely important and we ensure that these individuals reflect our clients’ standards of professionalism, courtesy, and specialization knowledge. The Program’s network of interpreters has experience in consecutive interpreting, knowledge in the subject area, and full bicultural knowledge of their clients.

The Program maintains a pool of trained interpreters who have first hand knowledge of the subject matter which is being discussed, have full bicultural knowledge of the English Language Learner, and are available for various settings and situations such as business meetings, site visits, medical appointments, healthcare assessments, depositions, court appearances, etc.

Telephone Interpretation – Bilingual representatives can additionally offer assistance via telephone.

To find out more information about our on-site or telephonic interpretation and translation services, please contact Sandy Lin (sandy.lin@asiainc-ohio.org).
