Lucky Seniors

lucky02

The Lucky Seniors is a senior congregate meal and wellness program. The goal of the program is to improve the health and mental health of area Asian seniors through nutritional and socialization activities. Seniors from throughout the NE Ohio regional meet regularly for educational, nutritional and social activities. At each meeting the seniors are served a culturally relevant meal, perform Asian exercises, engage in line dancing, study English, attend musical and artistic events, and provide volunteer services to the community at special events.

These programs are vital to the well being of many seniors, as evidenced from their comments about the program:

“This program offered us, the seniors, opportunity to talk among our folks. It is extremely helpful for us not only physically, but also mentally. Thank you so much.”

“It’s very wonderful that I don’t need to cook lunch twice a week. I can also bring a dinner box home. I enjoy the program a lot.” – Lucky Senior Age 76

“I feel thankful for having the chance to make new friends, to learn something new. I enjoyed those unforgettable experiences.” – Lucky Senior Age 86

“It’s extremely beneficial for me physically and mentally to attend this program.  I wish that there will continue to be more variety of activities to improve our knowledge and health.”
- Lucky Senior Age 79
