Community Health Promotion
Health Fairs
Health Fairs have provided the local Asian population and other ethnic communities with much needed education on health issues and free health screening. The Ohio Commission on Minority Health and the Ohio Department of Health have traditionally funded health promotion activities focusing on cardiovascular, cancer, hepatitis and osteoporosis prevention.
Asian American Youth Against Tobacco (AAYAT)
Funded by the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation, AAYAT is a coalition of Asian American youth dedicated to increase awareness of and reduce the harmful effects of tobacco use through health education, disease prevention and policy advocacy throughout Ohio.
Health Through Actions Initiative (HTA)
HTA is a multi-year initiative funded by the Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum with support from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. The focus is on building the capacity of community collaboratives to address major health issues within Asian Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian populations. HTA is a statewide initiative that engages agencies and individuals in Akron, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton.
