The
2008 Dr. James K.C. Juan Youth Scholarship Program

Deadline: May 28, 2008
The
Youth Scholarship program is funded by an endowment provided by
Dr. James K.C. Juan, a lifelong educator, his family and friends
on his 90th birthday. Originally formed to promote education study
by Asian students, the scholarship provides two $1,000 awards to
assist college bound or present college enrollees majoring in education.

2002
Scholarship Recipients
Five
outstanding applicants were awarded scholarships at an event attended
by 50 family and community members at the Crystal Café of
the Akron General Wellness Center. Stephen Ong, Vice President of
the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, was the keynote speaker.
Dr. James J. Juan presented the awards to the following recipients:

Kent State University Early Childhood Development, $1000
- Bryan Choi
Harvard University Undeclared Major, $500
- David Liu
University of Michigan, $500
- Angela Garcia

2001
Scholarship Recipients
The 2001 scholarship
competition received more than 50 applications. Further expanded
in 2001 to cover engineering study, a $300 scholarship was instituted
for a student majoring in Engineering.
